Into September

I can't believe that it's September and I am just now blogging about my first grade kiddos! Today we played a pretty cool short "a" game that I wanted to share. I saw something similar on Teachers Pay Teachers, so I re-created it to match my class' needs.

 The directions at the top explain it all. Roll. Read & Write: Short a words. They roll a dice, the number they roll is the short a word they need to write. They took turns in groups of three and enjoyed playing! I love that they can have so much fun while practicing their phonics, listening, spelling, and cooperation skills. The following photos are my kiddos playing the game today.
