Planet Presentations
Our class has been working very diligently on researching planets. Partners worked together to research one planet and then individually each student created an Educreations presentation on their chosen planet. These are fantastic for their first time creating, explaining, and then posting their presentation on their blog! I am very proud of them and can't wait to see more!

Using our Schema to Make Connections
Our first comprehension strategy we are learning, is how to make connections using our schema. Schema is all the stuff that is already inside our heads, our prior experiences. If you have never lost a tooth, then it's hard to understand what it feels like to loose a tooth, so you don't have any schema for loosing a tooth. But if you have lost a tooth, then you know what that's like and can make connections to someone who has also lost a tooth.
In class we are reading stories that we may connect to and then sharing our connections with the class. We will build our confidence with using our schema and making connections and then our focus will be on making meaningful connections...
